Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s most popular climbs and is the most highly visited of the Seven Summits. The climb and mountain are accessible to anyone willing to train prior to adventure and work hard on the mountain. This trip pairs a summit attempt with a safari in Tanzania, combining two once in a lifetime experiences is a single trip.
This expedition is our traditional guided team climb and ascends via the Machame route. The trip is led by a IFMGA certified guide and provide local guides, logistics, team gear, porters, food, and support for a summit attempt on Kilimanjaro. Following the climb climbers will spend two days in the Tarangire National Park.

Itinerary

Day 1: Depart home for Tanzania
Day 2: Arrive in Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International Airport, transfer to hotel
Day 3: Gear checks, team meeting, and check out town
Day 4: Drive to Kilimanjaro Park gate(5,800ft) and climb through rainforest to Machame camp(10,000ft)
Day 5: Continue to the climb  through Heather forests to the Shira Plateau camp(12,300ft)

Questions & Answers

Contrary to what most people believe, Kilimanjaro is not just a “hike”. You need to be comfortable carrying a backpack, have a reasonable level of cardiovascular fitness and enjoy sleeping in a tent! Summit day can be very long and cold, but very rewarding, especially when the sun comes up!
This is one of our beginner trips and so the only thing required is to have a thirst for adventure! It also helps to be able to carry a light backpack, have a good base level of fitness.
The climber to guide ratio is 4:1
Kilimanjaro is large enough to have its own weather system, so the weather can be somewhat unpredictable. The rainy months are April to mid-June and November. The most popular months to go are late-June to September, and then from mid-January to mid-March.
Yes, both hotels and tents on the mountain will be shared accommodations due to limited tent space and the weight of carrying extra tents. We do offer a single rooming option for an additional $500 if you would prefer your own hotel room and tent.
